MARIAN KOŁODZIEJ EXHIBITION

PGE Fundacja

The Memory Stencils. Labyrinths exhibition was the first public exhibition of the artist Marian Kołodziej’s graphics in Poland and Rome. The works were displayed on four massive black octagons which recorded the real memory of concentration camps, bringing viewers closer to historic figures such as Maximilian Kolbe or Witold Pilecki.

Our task was to design the visual identity of the exhibition – colour scheme, typography, and exhibition design. The organiser of the exhibition was the PGE Foundation.

We used flourished, decorative lettering that contrasted with vibrant gradients. The exhibition acquired a new character as the viewer entered a new dimension. The colours evoke to reflections, and the play of light delivers a moving visual effect, with illumination reminiscent of fine art galleries and symbolic of the artist’s own flashes of memory.
